Goodie Bags pick up date pushed to May 1

Since we have so many bags available for purchase remaining, we are moving our Collin County pick up date to May 1. The pick up will be in a public place (most likely at the intersection of Legacy/Independence in Plano).

We will be in College Station on April 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Dixie Chicken for your Aggie to pick up his or her bag. (We MUST have contact information for every Aggie picking up bags in CSTAT). We will be contacting your Aggies with reminders and logistics. We will also share our contact information as we understand things can always change with students and with COVID.

If you still need to purchase a Goodie Bag for your Aggie(s), you may purchase them through EVENTS on Wild Apricot. The cost of each bag is $20. Please note these are for PICK UP! As much as we would LOVE to deliver 100 bags, it just isn't practical. Please note ALL precautions will be made to follow COVID protocols.

Bag contents:

  • Clear “Game Day” draw string bag
  • $5 Starbucks gift card
  • Rain poncho (in a clip on plastic ball)
  • Water bottle
  • 12th Man Towel
  • Pennies for Sully
  • Hugs and Kisses from Mom (Hershey's kisses)
  • Chapstick
  • Rice Krispies Treat
  • Various other sweet and savory snacks (will vary by bag)

If you have any questions, email us at CCAMGoodieBags@aggienetwork.com.

Thanks and Gig 'Em!

Golf fundraiser earns over $6k

Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, which was held April 15, was another huge success. We had 48 golfers, 12 teams (see how we did that), join us for a very wet day, many of whom played last year and were excited to play again.

Despite the rain, we were able to complete play with no delays and had eight of the 14 volunteers stay for dinner.  We all had a great time being able to visit with each other again. Final numbers won't be in for a few days, but it is looking like we added over $6000 to our scholarship and student activities funds.

Pres.-Elect and spring fundraising chair Kathy Terzis '90 would like to thank all the volunteers who came out to help: Andrea Greenwald, Caryn Schneiderjan, Gwen Rost, Linda Foster, Jeanne King, Sue Tipoff, JoAnna Gaudsmith, Karen Walker, Glenda Copeland, Deb Merrill, Janelle Dugas, and Sam Abiog. We couldn't have had a successful tournament without you and wouldn't have had as much fun.  Sorry some of you drew the short straw and had to be out in the rain most of the afternoon.

Aggie Angels

Aggie Angels met on March 24 at Haywire in Plano for some social time.

Another event is being planned for May. Details coming soon!

Big Event Weekend

Our club volunteered on March 28 at Feed My Starving Children in Richardson and helped pack over 12,000 meals that will feed 33 children for a year.

Lt. Col. USAF Gregory Moran '04

Aggie Mom Brag

Gregory Moran '04, son of Geri and Mike Moran of Richardson, is thrilled about the Boeing X37B Space Plane Team working together to achieve the prestigious Collier Aeronautical Award and getting to be a part of the experience during his current assignment. The stiff competition among nine space endeavors was incredible, including NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. He will officially be transferred to the U.S. Space Force this summer.
